Girl Scouts of Corona

Spotlight on the Scouts of
Wild Rose

Hello! My name is Tina. I'm a Cadette Girl Scout and I've been in Girl Scouts for almost 10 years. I've been through all the levels: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes and next year Seniors. I think that I have learned a lot from my experiences in Girl Scouting. It has given me so many different opportunities that isn't offered anywhere else or taught as well. Girl Scouting in general has helped me grow up, mature, be organized and have fun. I've made so many friends, it's unbelievable. Camping is probably the best part of Girl Scouts, although planning it is a hassle but is all works out in the end. Some of my fondest memories was of the first year I attended resident camp. Three other girls and I from my troop attended resident camp up at Azalea Trails for a week with me.We slept under the stars, hiked, learned about horses, learned archery skills and much more. This is also where I developed a special friendship with a sister Girl Scout from Visalia the second time i went to camp there. To this day we still spend a week with one another and stay in contact via US mail and email.

As a Cadette I have currently earned my Leadership pin, PA patch , several Interest Projects and as a troop we are working on our silver award together. I have so many memories of my 10 years in scouting, my mom and I have put together four photo albums, almost 5, of all the events we have participated in. I also have hundreds of patches and swaps. Over all, the best part of girl scouting for me was having my mom there with me through it all. As a Leader, Mother, and friend.

Happy Scouting to you all !!!

Girl Scouts
A poem by a Scout

G is for the girl inside of me just waiting to explore all the wonderful experiences in life I have in store

I is for the interest that I exhibit with each new task
wondering how it is possible that the next one will be better than the last.

R is for the richness that I fell inside as I walk through life with my parents and my brother by my side.

L is for the lady inside of me just waiting to come out while the child inside of me is still learning what life is all about.

S is for the Girl Scout in me who always wants to know more  Scouting has given me many new opportunities to explore.

C is for the campfire with its tall flames burning bright As we sing the son of memories before we say Good-Night.

O is for the World-of-Out-of-Doors that is so much a part of me Scouting has helped me appreciate everything I see.

U is for the unexpected things I'll encounter in my life Some I might be thankful for , others I might not like.

T is for the thanks I give to people who have cared  It's with them that memories are made and special thoughts are shared.
