Ambilkan Bulan - A.T. Mahmud - One of the most beautiful Indonesian children song. It's about a child asked his mother to "pick" the moon from the night sky for accompanying his sleep. Melati dari Jayagiri - Iwan Abdulrachman - Iwan "Abah" Abdulrachman is an Indonesian singer, song writer, and guitarist. He's also a martial arts expert, environmentalist, explorer, and rescuer. He lives in Bandung, West Java. The song is about a young girl in Jayagiri valley, West Java. Many thanks to Abah Iwan for giving me permission to arrange this song. Indonesia Pusaka - Ismail Marzuki (1914 - 1958) - One of the most popular national song in Indonesia. Ismail Marzuki was a legendary song writer that knew how to create a sensible melody and put the spirit of patriotism in the lyric. Amelia - Jubing - I've added the MP3 file! I dedicate this piece to Iwan Tanzil, a great Indonesian classical guitarist who now live in Germany. Amelia is a name of a little girl from a children story written by my wife. One day Amelia met Yuli, a mysterious little girl that became her new friend. Who is Yuli? Becak Fantasia by Jubing - MP3's added! This piece is a fantasia based upon Hai Becak, a popular Indonesian children song written by Bintang Soedibjo. She was a famous children song writer and also known as Ibu Soed or Madame Soed. Becak is a pedicab with three wheels. It can be found as public transportation in many cities in Indonesia. A Little Lullaby - Jubing - Good news! Now I can make a guitar recording with my PC. So, you could listen to me playing the guitar. This piece is a not-so-difficult one. Minuet in G - Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) - One of the most popular minuet in the world of music. This piece --originally for clavier, found on Bach's notebook for his wife, Anna Magdalena-- has been transcribed for many music instruments. Burung Kakatua - Indonesian Song - The title means "cackatoo bird". It's a very popular folk song for all Indonesian, from children to grandpa and grandma. The original rhythm is ordinary waltz. Auld Lang Syne - Scottish Song - This music is for everybody who will going to play guitar on New Year's Eve. It's sounds beautiful on guitar. Bangun Pemudi Pemuda - Alfred Simanjuntak (b. 1920) - The composer is a school teacher and journalist before he became one of the founders of a publishing company. He composed this song during Japanese occupation in Indonesia in the year 1943 to raise patriotism among the youth. Free translation of the title is "Rise, Young Men and Young Lady!". Since then, this song is being taught to every student in every elementary school. I make the guitar arrangement as simple as I could for the beginner guitarist. Minuet (Updated!) by Luigi Boccherini (1743 - 1805) - This probably the most popular composition by this great Italian cellist. Originally written for string quintet. The Rickshaw - Jubing - A cheerful piece with easy listening melodies to entertain yourself or your friends. Rondeau - Elizabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre(1664 - 1729) - A work by French harpsichordist and composer. She was the most prolific and accomplished female composer of the French Baroque. Tambourin - Fran�ois-Joseph Gossec (1734 - 1829) - A lively dance music by a Belgium composer who had a long and succesful career in Paris. I enjoy this music for the first time when listening a record by Michala Petri (the "Greensleeves" album). She is one of the greatest recorder player in the world. Now you can play it on guitar. Allemande (From English Suite no. 3) - Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) - Originally written for clavier, this piece is still enchanting when adapted for guitar. Any guitarist who love Bach should try this transcription. Well, it's not recommended for beginner, although I have tried to make the fingering as smooth as possible. I listened the suite for the first time from a record by Ivo Pogorelich (pianist). Since then, I've been "haunted" by the melody of the Allemande. Nina Bobo (Sleep, Nina) - Indonesian Craddle Song - For generations, this traditional melodies were sung by Indonesian mothers to make their children sleep. The lyrics: "Sleep, Nina. Sleep, Nina. If you're not, the mosquito will bite you. Sleep my dear child. If you're not, the mosquito will bite you". Nina was the child's name in the song (not a native Indonesian name, maybe from Portugese). Summer Solstice at Sunset - Anne Ku - This transcriptions was commisioned by Anne Ku from London. Originally written for keyboard in D minor. The guitar version is in E minor. At first, it looks difficult to play this piece smoothly with guitar. But if you practised it in slow motion (pay attention to the fingering), than gradually increase the speed, you can get the music. Listen to the midi and download page 1 and page 2. Negeri di Awan by Andre Manika/Katon Bagaskara - Literally, the title of this Indonesian popular love song means "a country above the clouds". The songwriters are brothers. Katon is a member of a KLA Project, a famous band in Indonesia. He also sang this song. I believe this song will become classic and always be sung forever. The melody is not just beautiful to be sung, but also to be played on classical guitar. Waltz by Fransisco Tarrega (1852 - 1909) - It was Tarrega who create techniques that bring classical guitar to be the most expressive music instrument. This short romantic waltz begins with melody in low register and flow to higher notes on the next section. The original score I have is for two guitars in A major. Allegro Moderato (from Serenade op. 96 no.1) by Ferdinando Carulli (1770-1841) - Carulli was famous for his compositions for two guitars, include this one. But it's difficult for me to play it because I am not always find a partner to play it. So I decided to transcribed this piece for solo guitar. Capuccino Rumba by Jubing - I like capuccino and rumba. That's why I used them for the title of this short and cheerful composition. You also can use it for arpeggio exercise. The Soundboard magazine has published this composition in its summer 2000 issue (volume XXVII, number 1). The score is made available here with the help of Peter Danner, the editor of Soundboard.
