Your Buddy List
Your buddy list is a list of people whom you have added that you may know on AOL or on AIM. It automatically comes up with who is signed on when you log into AIM.
If you want to view your whole buddy list and not just the people who are signed on, click on the tab that says "List Setup". You'll get something like this:
I've renamed the groups on my list, which you can do as well by right-clicking on them and choosing "Rename". But anyway, once you've got the list of everyone on your buddy list, you have the option of adding people and/or groups and deleting people and/or groups. Adding people and groups are fairly similar. To add a person, click on the "Add a Buddy" button, which is the one that looks like a single person with a + above their head. Once you'd done so, a highlighted box will come up on your list with "*NewBuddy*" in it. It will look like this:
Just type in whatever screenname you'd like to add. For example, if you're adding the screenname CloudGSIII, it would look like this after you typed it in:
To save the screenname once you've typed it in, you can click anywhere else. Adding a group is very similar, only instead of clicking on the "Add a Buddy" button, you'll click on the "Add a Group" button which is the one right next to it. (It looks like three people with a + above them.) And instead of entering a screenname, you just enter the name for the group. For instance, I added the GSIII group on my list, and then added all the people in that group over time. You don't have to have specific groups however.
Deleting people from your buddy list is also fairly easy. Right-click on the name you want to delete and you'll get a pop-up window like this:
Highlight the delete option like I've done above, and you'll get a window like this that come up:
If you still want to delete them, click "Yes". If not, click "No" and they'll remain on your list. If you delete them from your list, you have to re-add them just as I described above. :)
