I am Virginia Scheidt, I have been on AOL for 5 years now. When I first came online I didn't have a nick so friends in the area I freqented decided to find one for me. In the mean time I was VL4now. When AOL closed our playground one of my friends said, "I think Viva fits you." and it does and it stuck. Therefore I am known as Viva by many online. Why did that name fit so well? computer more..and still learning as each day goes on.Dawn - I am a 37 yr old divorced Mom. I have a soon to be 6 yr old son named Joey who is in Kindergarten. And Jake my future stepson who is 12 and in the seventh grade. This past spring Joey and I moved from Connecticut to Massachusetts. Before that I worked for 7 yrs as a Data Entry Clerk. Now circumstances are a little rough so I am a stay at home Mom. I am hoping to go back to work next September when my little guy is in school full days. I first joined AOL in November of 1996. I LOVE IT! I keep in touch with family and friends. I've reunited with old school mates. I also made so many new friends and even got to meet some of them in person! My Mom was also online and discover LOTH. She told me about it and I joined too. And one of the nicest things of all...I met my best friend thru AOL. We now share a house here in the Berkshire mountains with our two boys. He has asked me to marry him (I said yes)so in the near future I will be asking for wedding advice :) Some of my hobbies are cooking, reading, drawing, learning to play guitar, and collecting music boxes. I am really looking forward to meeting more of you... Diane - I'm pretty much a veteran with AOL; been around it since version 2.0 on a MAC. I now use a Gateway Pentium II, big screen, scanner, etc. I have several web pages in Hometown AOL, not a site, per se, but an interesting group of personal pages linked to my site in Homestead.com. I like AOL for its easy interface and use its financial pages quite often to track stocks in a portfolio. I also enjoy the idea that I can find a real person to talk to (although that isn't always easy--they like to hide) when I need to.
I'm a high school English teacher, a musician, and poet. I love photography, lighthouses, and animals, especially birding and greyhounds. I have used AOL for almost 5 years now (yes, even before the unlimited pricing plan) and I can still remember all too well when I was a "newbie". I am so thankful for all the kind friends who helped me back then. Now I have my own web design company, Wildwood Forest Studios (shameless plug!)I have a wonderful hubby and 3 kids (only the highschooler left at home now) and 2 grandkids. I also do a little backpacking, sailing, quilting, and I play on a tennis team. Never-the-less, I hope I never get too busy to pay back some of that past kindness. I originally signed up to keep in touch with my sister in Alabama and have branched out from there. The possibilties are endless on AOL. I've been married for 30 yrs (in March) and have 3 children; a daughter 27 and 2 sons 23 and 21. I work full time at Ameritech (local phone company). I've been with them for almost 26 yrs. I have 3 websites that I maintain on GeoCities. I'm saving my AOL space for another project! I've been working with PSP - Paint Shop Pro for about 6 months now. I love learning how to create my own graphics. In my spare time when not on the computer or at work I enjoy reading and working on my family tree. Marie - I am a 55 year old widow, have one 30 year old daughter, one 10 year old granddaughter. I babysit her each day after school while her Mom works. I like to do fabric painting, read, use computer. I am currently co-authoring a book with my Pastor called WOUNDED WARRIORS. I have been on AOL for 18 months...it has been a constant learning experience. I don't have all the answers, but I have a few! Melissa - My name is Melisssa, though I frequently go by RwnMayfair on AOL and Melissa/RwnMayfair or Rowan on the internet. I've used AOL for about 9 years now, it's actually where I met my husband! I use it both on a Macintosh and an IBMN, as well as using AIM in both. I'm a big Ann Rice fan, if you can't tell from my nickname, as well as an avid reader of almost anything I can get my hands on! I've been a member of LOTH since the fall of 1997 and I joined much the same way as others did: I saw the logo on someone's website (Kari's to be exact! ::grin::), and just went from there! I enjoy LOTH quite a bit, and really enjoy being an RD! I live in Oxford, home of Miami University, though I was born and raise outside of Washington, DC in Northern Virginia. I lived there until 1997, when I moved here! I'm currently completing my bachelor's at Miami in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs with a minor in history. Like I mentioned above, I enjoy reading (Fantacy/Si Fi is my favorite genre), I also enjoy designing webpages, spending time with friends, playing with my cats, spending time with my hubby and tons of other things I'm not thinking of right now. ;)
