Ode
To My Beloved Barnabas Rise courtly man, the nightingale sings The sky is flaming red Your freedom nightly rings The chains of your tomb, now broken fall away Let hearts with blood flowing herald "Death to endless day!" For your thirst is unending Undead your sun is the moon Evening will die quickly The lark will hark dawn soon Two hundred years ago, A man held the world by a string He met a bewitching wench To Collinwood he promised to bring But his eyes turned another way And the maiden he used, cast aside He found a more suitable girl One that Joshua could not chide But the maiden was vengeful Jealous and vexed So powerful was her anger Her paramour would be hexed. So endure the curse of the night My love, as you stray from the tomb the light in the world where you dwell will compare to your mother's womb. Love Angelique |
