This is a picture taken by Anna of the harbor seals that live in the Childrens' Pool at La Jolla, California. The breakwater to the left, originally built so children would have safe place to wade without being sucked out to sea by the strong undertow, created such a perfect environment the beach was overtaken by the seals for the same reasons. It's really interesting to see little kids playing on the same beach as the seals. Grand Canyon, Arizona. When I developed the pictures I chose a too-small size and the film was cheap, so you can't begin to imagine the breathtaking beauty of the Canyon. Unfortunately, all the pictures came out looking drab like these. A view of the Star of India, which is docked in San Diego harbor Here's another view of the Star of India, with Anna Banana Upper left: A view of Ellis Island from Liberty Island. Upper right: Riding the ferry on the way to Liberty Island. Above: A view of Manhattan from Liberty Island. See the World Trade Center? I especially like the clipper ship that's floating off to the left. I won a trip to the Statue and the United Nations during the fifth grade for an essay contest. America's smallest post office, Pineland, Florida 33945. One of the many, many pictures I took while visiting Cape Canaveral, Florida. This building is NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building, where the space shuttles are built. Huge building. This is a picture of the lion exhibit at the San Diego Zoo. It looks like the lions' eyes are glowing but they're reflecting the light off the flash. The exhibit is not much larger than what the picture shows and it's for this reason that I will rarely attend a zoo and definitely will not patronize circuses. |
