This was part of aColor assignment  at NESOP.  We had to shoot specifically for color, ignoring composition. So  driving into work one day I noticed this sign in the parking lot and decided to shoot it.  Seeing it on actual photo paper is great.  It's very postcard/sticker like.
This was another NESOP assignment.  We had to shoot a fireworks display on the Fourth of July.  It was a weird assignment because you didn't really know what you were doing.  I set my camera/tripod up (using a remote control for the shutter), set the aperature to F22, and used a shutter speed of about 3 - 5 seconds. It was really exciting getting that roll of film back from the photo lab.  It's amazing what you can do when you're not sure what you're doing! I've tried to shoot fireworks again since then, but have yet to achieve the success I had on my first outing.
This is a really bad scan of this photograph and the image you see here just doesn't do the photograph justice.  It was part of a "City and Street Life"  homework assignment while I was taking b&w classes at Mass Art.  (It's the alley behind Nike Town on Newbury St.) Similar to my bridge photo, I like the way the lines pull your eye into the photograph.  I also like that it represented a side of city and street life we don't often see or notice.  Too bad my teacher didn't get it.
I took this photo at Runyon Canyon Park in the Hollywood Hills while visiting my friend.  It was a pretty gloomy day in LA so we decided to take the dog for a walk.  I really like the way the clouds are hanging just above the tops of the hills and Mathilda is walking along the edge. This photo was a part of the first roll of film I had shot with my new camera.
This was a spur of the moment photograph.  I was in the kitchen at work and glanced out the window so I ran back to my desk, grabbed the digital camera and voila!  While I enjoy the instant gratification of shooting with a digital camera, I'm an old fashioined kind of gal whose heart still lies with the traditional 35mm.
