JONES:
Obituary:
Edward Wesley Jones died
at North Fryeburg, Maine, July 1, 1919, aged 11
years.
He was the second son of Percy and Eva Heald Jones. He was born at
North Fryeburg. Edward
was a very bright and loveable child, with a sunny
disposition.
About one year ago he was taken sick and since then he has
been a great care.
He said his prayer every night and asked God to help
him get well.
Everything possible was done for him by his parents and
great grandparents.
They took him to Memorial Hospital in Conway and to
hospitals and
specialists in Portland but there was no help for him and
July 3 he was laid to
rest in the cemetery near his home amidst a quantity
of beautiful flowers.
His two grandfathers and
two uncles were the bearers. His
casket was a
beautiful white couch
and his pretty little brown suit was made by his
mother.
Several of his schoolmates from the Harbor attended his funeral
and brought flowers as
tokens of love and memory.
In the passing beyond of
Edward we can truly say:
One precious to our
hearts has gone,
The voice we loved is
stilled,
The place made vacant in
the home
Can never more be
filled.
Our Father in His wisdom
called,
The life His love had
given;
And though on earth the
body lies,
The soul is safe in
heaven.
