BOYS
How do
you cope with a growing up lad,
Sit and say nothing or drive
yourself mad.
Constantly nagging and being
a pain,
Forgetting he`s trying to
be a young man.
I buy him clothes, but I must
be a fool,
He wont put them on if they`re
not cool.
His hair is stylish - so he
says,
I could never tell him he
looks like a Jess.
As a kid, I had a bike and
a scooter,
But, he just sits at his computer.
I talk to him and ask him
questions,
But he`s too busy fighting
alien nations.
TV used to be the `in thing`,
But, he instists it`s just
not exciting.
I wish he wouldn`t be so rude,
The head is turned, but the
eyes still glued.
When I say don`t mess about,
That`s when all the cheek
comes out.
Words he doesn`t understand,
Then the gestures with his
hands.
He is sure that I`ve not heard,
In fact, I`ve noted every
word.
And, from the corner of my
eye,
More silly actions - I ask
"why?"
I`m a grown up - I am told,
I wouldn`t understand - I`m
old!
How to reply - have you guessed?
"Up to your bedroom and
sort out that mess!!"
