Susan B. Anthony was a tireless advocate of abolition and women's suffrage. She traveled, wrote, and spoke constantly, dedicating her considerable wit and energy to suffrage and equal rights for all. She stands out among all the courageous leaders from the two centuries of the "modern" women's suffrage movement, indefatigable in her conviction and action. Our annual celebration honors local women and men who share her commitment to equal opportunities and participation for women
Nominations are now being accepted for the 29th annual Susan B. Anthony Award. A select group of dedicated community leaders will be honored at the annual award reception on Friday, March 5,2004, also celebrating the start of Women's History Month. Presenters at the SBA this year will be Shirley Zeller and Ila Smith, longtime local community leaders who will give a presentation on the History of Women in Jackson County. Please submit a nomination now, and mark your calendar to join us at the celebration.
