Here is a bibliography that I've put together of books, articles, and other documents helpful in thinking about women in engineering.

  • With respect to girls, I recommend a volume on gender and computer games by Justine Cassell , published with MIT Press (1998), and entitled From Barbie to Mortal Kombat: Gender and Computer Games (also available from Amazon.com).
  • DigitalEve.com is in my opinion a great Boston-based networking group for women in the information technology fields.
  • Amnesty International USA is a must-be-on mailing list for people concerned about Human Rights and International Activism. Amnesty International activists put public pressure on human right abusers - and they make a difference. You send the e-mails! Sign up and be involved!
  • For women over 35, I recommend this website for women-only humor (No men allowed here).
  • The weapons herstory link below is putting to practice the documentation of women's history so that I can pass this along to my daughters Keely and Marlee. Women's history and contributions are often not written down or noted. There is a wonderful women's history website which has excellent educational materials called the Women's History Project.
