Benvenuti a tutti - Welcome Everyone
Now you are probably all wondering how I arrived at the name of "Dagoredd". Well being of Italian decent the slang for Italian is either Dago or Wap. The word Dago is pronounced with a long "a" and a long "o". I guess in the time my parents were growing up when you said the word Dago or Wap those were fighting words. The word red came from the "red wine" most of us Italians like to drink. So you put them both together and you get the word "Dagoredd". The reason for the extra "d" is to be different. My father got me started on this project (like I needed another project) We went to visit my parents one weekend and he showed me all the genealogy work he as been doing to find his grandparents and my mothers grandparents. It got me hooked. Being I'm the one with the computer I started researching with what information he had. Now you must keep in mind both my grandparents came over from Caltanisetta, Italy. The surnames we are trying to locate are:
CARUSO; BIAGIO dob unknown, died 5-17-1938. He married ANGILELLA; ASSUNTA MARIA. Assunta died at age 45 on Dec. 19, 1937. They had seven children, Josephine, Charles, Michael, Enrico, Angelo, Rose and Helen Caruso.
The other name we are trying to locate are:
BRUNO; Giacomo dob unknown, who married MESSARO; GRAZIA. As far as we know they had a daughter, DOMENICA BRUNO (this is my grandmother who they named my after) who was born on Dec. 15,1891. DOMENICA married GIUSEPPE CALISTA on March 4, 1915 in Palermo, Italy. They had 3 sons. Stefano (Steven), Giacomo (Jack) this Jack died at birth, and Giacomo born on July 24, 1919 (this is my father).
