goddess in disguise
i surfed upon
her silvery waves
that she created
with her nimble fingers
her nails pierced
the ivory keys
that conceived the music
which makes me hum
she sang over
the cries and sorrows
so sad yet so bold
her words danced on my mind
with her sidewalk chalk
she wrote her scriptures
her own bible on the concrete
just to be washed away by rain
amazing as she was
she had her faults
she wasn't a perfect being
she was a goddess with a bad disguise
her mediocre appearance
copper tendrils spilling
onto the small of her back
shone in the light like any other
her eyes so blue
so deep in it's color
blue upon a milky white
blinked just the same as mine.
her imperfections
and her mistakes
is what made her
so perfectly true
back to proof
