to love again
building this wall
that surrounds me whole
brick by brick
of a steely emotion
protection against
the most anguishing of pains
the wall's almost complete
and i'm barely there
soon enough
your attacks will deflect
off of my hardened shell
and i will know no sadness
if only one day
i could seize the moment
take another risk on life
and love again.
