OK, this is the 2nd day of school. Still very excited but it was harder to get out of bed early this morning. :P Maybe, I shouldn't have stayed up late to watch 'Friends' last night. :P Still, who could resist, y'know? hehehe... excuses, excuses!

First lecture of today was 'Nursing Science 1B' and our lecturer is an Aussie guy. He cracks jokes with a straight face and sadly, I found myself giggling at his jokes but when looking at my classmates sitting beside me, nobody else got his jokes. :/ Humph! The thing about people from this part of the world is that most of them lack a sense of humour. Partly why I miss my Caucasian ex-colleagues and friends and even, those few of my close friends who have been educated overseas and so, share that same joie de vivre. Sometimes, people can be pretty 2-dimensional but thankfully, the younger generation is becoming better. There's hope yet!

Yesterday, our Behavioural Science 1A (Psychology) lecturer had to explain why nurses had to study psychology and today, our Behavioural Science 1B (Sociology) lecturer likewise, had to explain to us why sociology is a component in our course. A juicy piece of gossip - she told us she was only lecturing us for this one lecture because the lecturer himself is away in Europe for his honeymoon but shall return by the next Sociology lecture. I betcha he'll be the target of much teasing from my lecture group when he returns. ;)

Our Clinical Education guide today nagged at us to have our Hepatitis B vaccination done by Saturday this week. We're going to be posted for our first Intra-Semester Placement (ISP) at a hospital in October! Wow... things sure move fast in this course all right!

We were taught Medical Handwashing as well. The tutor's lucky no. happened to be seven I told her that it certainly wasn't my lucky number when she called out my name to demonstrate to the class before her lesson ended. Turned out I was a perfect example... of what NOT to do and what NOT to forget during Medical Handwashing. hehehe! She couldn't have asked for a more perfectly FLAWED example! :P Anyway, it helped cleared a lot of uncertainties I had re. medical handwashing and having viewed a video prior to teaching us the technique of medical handwashing, I appreciate why nurses have to be so fastidious about washing up thoroughly before moving on to the next patient.

Tuesdays are my long days for this semester (ends at 6pm with only a 50-minute lunch break in between) and I was mighty glad when the day ended. I'm so dead tired! But wait, oh no! I can't sleep early again 'cause there's Ally McBeal tonight at 10pm! Oh brother!! :P
