      Bradford Martin, a Confederate soldier, came to this county at an early date and established a farm on the Northfork River. He married Malinda Easley a native of Arkansas, and they were the parents of the following children: Jim Martin, who served the county for many years as sheriff and collector; France Martin; Tom Martin; Mrs. Ellie Thorn; and George Martin.

      January 4, 1935 issue: George Martin, age 63,a native of Baxter county, died on Thursday of last week and was laid to rest in the Mountain Home cemetery the following afternoon, Rev. Mays, pastor of the Methodist church conducting the funeral services. Mr. Martin was born and reared in this county. He was an honest, upright citizen and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, two sons, two daughters, three brothers Tom, Jim and France of Mt.
