I still believe in my friends

My Friends and Inspirations, and Why They're Great

Ayana is one of my best friends ever. We've been through a lot this year, and have come through it all even closer then we were. I couldn't ask for a more wonderful person to be in my life. She's fun and smart and truly incredible!

Andrea, my fellow Marilyn. We've known each other for years (we met when I was friends with her sister), and she's fast becoming one of closest friends I have now, and that I've ever had. She's my sista!

Christian is my ex-boy, part of my love triangle and one of my best friends. Our relationship is very confusing, but I love him anyway. He's always good for an intellectual conversation (about Nietszche, Nabokov, how computers are taking over the world, and the wonders of nature, just to name a few we've had recently), or just some good feline romping.

Miriam is great! She can always make me laugh when I feel down and she's great to sing Madonna and the Indigo Girls in the car with!

Nerissa, my guitar teacher and pseudo therapist. She is an amazing guitar player, and my mentor. We drink herbal tea, we talk about the mysteries of life, love and the pursuit of happiness, she teaches me about Travis picking and strumming patterns. Her advice and support have really helped me get through this year. She is the best guitar teacher I could have!

Beaner (Laurie) is one of my first people I became close with over email (but who I actually met in person before I ever emailed her!) She's funny, sensitive and charismatic, and we always have tons of fun when we get together. She (along with Jenna) even made me a Sha-La-La!

Jenna, another email friend (who is pictured here with Beaner at the first day of Falcon Ridge-pre dirt!), is going with me to Hampshire next year, and I couldn’t be happier! She's hilarious, smart, strong and really fun to hang out with. I love her!

Tasha is a wonderful person who I've just gotten to know recently. She's incredibly intelligent, funny, loving and kind. I can't wait to get to know her better, because I already love her to bits!!

Sylvia is my oldest friend. We've known each other since the first day of first grade (which is over 12 years-wow!), and have been close ever since. We've seen each other about once or twice a year since she moved to Rhode Island, but she's going to be my neighbor at Smith College next year, and I'm one happy camper! It's amazing how our lives have parralled each other's, and she'll always be one of my best friends.

Tawni is one of the most genuinly nice people I've ever met. She's also hilarious and a great driver :) She's Andrea and my folk festival buddy and an expert on garbage (seriously!). She's also got great taste in music.

Sophi, my "big sister". Without her kindness and support, I don't know where I would be today. Once my theatre director, she's now my confidante, my letter-writing partner and fellow watcher of bad action flicks. She once dated Max, the bass player from The Maggies.

Amanda was an orginal member of Forced To Wear Fuschia (the first band I was in, now defunct). Playing with her was great, and I sure miss her, now that she's at school.
