Introduction

After reading Maggie's rant about the entertainment industry's treatment of dissociatives in general, I got to thinking. What makes us different from the cases protrayed in dramatized accounts?

I believe the primary difference is that we internalize our dissociative tendencies. It's not so much a physical difference that can be seen by outsiders. It's more of transformation in the way we process information, situations, and emotions. As an example of this process, I have included a very personal, very real account of one of our recent cooperative efforts in coming to terms with something very traumatic to all of us.
