I am a graduate student in human-computer interaction at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This summer
I studied abroad for six weeks in Tokyo through the auspices of Temple University's
Urban
Culture Workshop. My research focused on the social
impact of keitai(mobile phone) use in Japan. I accomplished this through
a literature review of current research and writings in the press. Some
themes I focused on my research include texting by the oyaybizoku (thumb tribes), gender, etiquette and
"kawaii" culture. |
