Baton twirling has always been a big part of my life!
I started taking lessons from a Park District at the age of 5. I caught on fast and joined a competitive team, started competing individually at age 9 and reached the advanced divisions by age 12. Throughout my competitive twirling career I won several Illinois state titles as well as placing in the top 8 at nationals at the "America's Youth on Parade" competition at Notre Dame University. I have also competed as a member of a some excellent baton corps - Teasers, Sensations, Silver Knights and Steperettes.
I performed with the marching and pep bands in high school and as a featured twirler at Illinois State University with their Big Red Marching Machine twirling two and three baton as well. I have been teaching baton to children now for about 6 years. |
