Wedding Plans |
Tim and I have been very busy since the beginning of 1999, making plans for the wedding, and also making plans to build a new home in Red Oak. We're very excited, and we're also very pleased that so many of our friends and family members share our excitement. In order to help keep everyone filled in on all the details as we make plans, we've decided to update this page to include as much information as possible. Check out the Navigation Bar above, plus the links below, to get the latest news! And thank you for sharing this happy time with us. As always, we welcome your comments -- be sure to sign our guestbook, and feel free to read the comments of others.
I bought my dress at Mockingbird Lane Bridal Boutique. I looked around LOTS before finding just the right dress, and even looked at several internet sites for ideas. Check out Bridesmart to see some beautiful dresses (but not mine). Tim selected his tuxedo at Ascot Tuxedos. I don't want to give away too many details, but I will tell you that the wedding party will be dressed in very traditional style, with accent colors of hunter green and gold.
The Wedding Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, Texas on May 8th at 7:00 pm. Click here to see photos of the church. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Charles Bruner, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, and music will be provided by Michael King, Church organist. The Church has a wonderful antique pipe organ, which Michael plays beautifully. We've selected classical music for the service. Click here to hear some samples.
Tim's talented brother Steve will be handling the flowers for the Church and the Community House. Everyone who knows Steve knows how lucky we are to have his talents put to work on our behalf. Flowers for the bridal party will be done by Dr. Delphinium Designs
The Reception will be held at the Lancaster Community House (photos coming soon!), which is directly across the street from the Church. We're planning a fajita buffet (yummm!) catered by one of our favorite Tex-Mex restaurants. We're also planning on serving margaritas, so be sure to make plans in advance to have a designated driver.
My mother, Betty, will be making the wedding cake and the groom's cake. We haven't decided what the cakes will LOOK like, but we know they'll taste delicious, as my mother is a terrific cook, with a special talent for cakes.
We are registered at Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel. We recently learned that our china pattern has been discontinued, and all remaining stock has been moved to the Crate & Barrel outlet store.
