Social Dieting .

What should an overweight teenager do when out with friends so as not to feel out of place ? Especially since a popular hang out seems to be McDonalds or some other Fast Food Centre . It becomes especially hard when everyone else in the group is ordering a set meal so as to take full advantage of the ‘toy on offer’ .

There are ways to beat the weight blues and not remain a social pariah .

  1. Order a small fries instead of a large one .
  2. Order a diet drink ( which has little or no calories ) if it is available .
  3. Otherwise drink water instead .

  4. Leave out creamy sauces or order say a plain fillet instead of one with full
  5. tartar sauce dressing , and apply a tomato sauce dressing instead .

  6. A grilled item is definitely better than say a deep fried item like Nuggets .
  7. If salads are available , that will be a good fillup instead of French Fries .
  8. Keep any salad dressing to a minimum .

  9. Assuming that cooking methods are sound ( taking into consideration oil and such ) :
  10. Fish is better than pork .

    And lean cuts of pork are better than beef .

  11. It is possible to have a well balanced meal on just vegetables alone .


Remember : Eating healthy doesn’t mean that you have to stay out of social gatherings .
