Here is the center of my world. My youngest daughter Anita, Her daughter Dawn, & my husband & I For those who have been following my page and feel they know me well I will share the heartache that has come to the happy group below. Despite the love between my daughter and her Daughter Dawn Marie in June a Florida court ruled that she didn't make enough money to support Dawn and terminated her rights after four years of jumping through the hoops DECAF held for them. The only requirement not made was a home separate from her family(my husband & I) What is bad is that she had given in and applied to the Housing authority for housing but due to the DECAF Supervisor's comment that she wouldn't call them back to confirm need as she didn't want Dawn returned to her mom so her case plan could not be completed.Three judges had ruled reunify but an "unfounded"(all were investigated and found unfounded by both State Atty & Sheriff's Office) abuse report within two days of each scheduled reunification meeting. Before you make the usual why didn't you appeal -- simply we had no funds for an attorney and the court appointed attorney wouldn't even get my daughter permission to tell her child good-bye. Now for all we know Dawn has been told we don't love her since we have been told no contact til she's 18 and under court order we had to just "disappear" from her life. I can only pray that someday she sees this and knows we love her and our hearts are broken. She would be with us if we could make it happen legally. I pray others will learn from our heartache when dealing with DECAF and the Florida Guardian ad leitum program you are Guilty until proven innocent and if the person who wants your child is close to DECAF or the Guardian or both prepare to be lied about and hurt because what the child wants and family wants means nothing which hurts even more when there are so many being left in situations that cost them their lives a child that is loved and wanted was taken away. I pray God deals with all involved and that someday in His mercy He reunites us with this precious child. UPDATE -- We've moved back to Texas to await Dawn's 18th birthday. Meanwhile her Great-Great Grandmother has died having only known Dawn as a precious little girl on the other end of the phone line. We still pray daily for Dawn and send her our love through God's angels. Her Grandfather has been diagnosed with what is called "silent" MS but we have no way of letting her foster and/or adoptive parents know. We can only trust God to guide them in getting her help if this heriditary disease has passed to her. These are three more of my angels. My youngest son Pat's they are Stacy 3, Nicki 2, and Christian 7mos.
