Welcome to my wedding
page ! When I got married on June 7, 1998, it was a very special
event. Not only did I marry the man that I love, but I learnt a lot about
what the ceremonies of a typical South Indian (Tamil) marriage really mean. The
Vedic God of Fire (Agni) is the witness of the marriage ceremony. Through
offerings made in Fire, the human spirit reaches the divine beings. The

Usually, a typical South Indian wedding is conducted entirely in Sanskrit
and the language of the people involved. However, we were very lucky to
find a priest, who translated everything to Marathi for the benefit of
both of us and our guests. It was enlightening to learn what all the vows
and the ceremonies mean. And it made our wedding truly unforgettable in
the minds of all of our guests.
Also you can read
the vows that Raju and I said to each other as we walked around the sacred
fire.
