Musings designed to ease wounded hearts

Numb
The past is behind me
        The present is the result of my past.
                The present is the foundation of my future.
My yesterdays color my todays;
        Today designs my future.
                My future reflects my past
My happiness requires equal parts of
 today's present;
        yesterday's past and
                tomorrow's future.

    Walking with Grief

    Live in the present moment, but keep my memories alive.
    Don't cry over what might have been, what we had was the best.
    Take it one day at a time, or one hour at a time, depending.
    Don't rush healing.
    Accept my feelings, no matter what they are.
    Take little steps forward, and if I slip up, it's no big deal.
    I'm a new person, and must take time to get to know myself.
    Learn the things I must know to live independently:
    check the oil in the car, brake fluid, transmission fluid, etc.
    Learn more about the house: plumbing, wiring, appliances,
    and. . . live every day to the fullest,
    and if I ever fall in love again,
    make every single moment count.
