Koithara Joseph Chacko had three sons and three daughters.Eldest Son Chackochen Koithara was married to Anna of Tharayil family and they had nine sons and two daughters .Eldest son of Chackochen,Joseph Chacko(Appan) was adopted in to his mother's family Tharayil as they had no sons.Thus Koithara Joseph Chacko became Joseph Chacko Tharayil and he was popularly known as "Tharayil Appachen".He was married to Theyyamma(Ammachy) daughter of Poopallil Vavachen,Chenankerry.Theyamma's mother Mamy is from Mappilacheril FamilyThey settled at Pulincunoo, Kannadi and they had ten chidren-six sons and four daughters. Tharayil Appachen and Theyyamma(fondly called as Appan and Ammachy) were an exceptional couple.They were the embodiment of love and gayity.Though they had 50 grand children they knew the whims and fancies of each one of them and gave their love and affection impartially. Ammachy was an exceptional woman. She was an ideal daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law and above all the best grand mother. I had a special relationship with her and shared many a memorable time. Appan died in 1988 at the age of 90 and ammachi died a year later at the age of 90. Appan and ammachi were an ideal blend of traditional and modern values. While adhering to the traditional values they never hesitated to blend in the modern.
