Welcome to the Tri-County Chapter of Women in the Wind (WITW). WITW is a national organization formed in 1979 whose purpose is to promote a positive image of women on motorcycles. We ride all types and size motorcycles and range from beginning riders to riders with 25+ year's experience. We live all across Long Island.
The Tri- County Chapter was recently formed (4/99) and is an AMA (American Motorcycle Association) club. Starting in November, we will be meeting in Levittown. Our meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. If you are interested in attending a meeting and checking us out, e-mail bikermom1@aol.com (Jackie Mola, our President) and she will give you directions to the meeting place. We are a diverse group of women - which makes us a fun and interesting group to belong to.
As an AMA club, our Sundays are filled with AMA sanctioned runs that are being hosted by other AMA clubs. This is a great way to get out and meet members of other clubs on Long Island. On a typical Sunday, we will meet at a pre-determined place and then ride to the run together as a group. When AMA isn't keeping us on the road, we will schedule a chapter run.
On Friday evenings, you can find some of our members at the Bellmore train station - just look for our turquoise WITW t-shirts! |
