THE COMPLETE CUSTARD TABLATURE ARCHIVE PROJECT!!!
My aim is to have the complete guitar tablature to every single Custard Album, EP, B-side and rarity by the end of THIS millenium.
It is a very ambitious project, but i'm sure you agree it is worth it. Hopefully, if we can get a good enough repository of flawless tablature then it will help to ensure that not just the recordings but the music of Custard, lives on long enough for our children and their children's children to enjoy it for evermore.
If you are not overly familiar with standard guitar notation then you may want to peruse:
The Quick & Pocket Sized Guide to Standard Guitar Tablature Notation
or The Complete Guide to the Guitar for the Beginning to Intermediate to Advanced player.
I've ordered it all alphabetically. Here it is.
Almost Like A Song
Arranged for the six-stringed guitar.
Tab editor's note: This version of almost like a song is taken from the long playing album "Loverama" so it may have slight variations when compared with live versions or other possible future versions. Just tap your foot until you think you've got it.
Intro riff:
BWA-BWA BWA-BWA BWA-AHH BAA BWA BWA
BWAAAAAR
then it goes:
BWEEP-BWUU
then
BWA^-BWA^ BWA^-BWA^ BWA^-AHH^ BAA ^BWA ^BWA^
BWAAAAAR^ BWEE-BWEE BWEE-BWEE BWEE-BWEE BWEE-BWEE
I don't think I can quote lyrics because that might be a breach of copyright. Does anyone know? Email me here
Alone
it's got C D and F.
"IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'm a-lone..". then the guitars again.
maybe E?
Music Is Crap
by Glenn Robert Thompson
Chords G F and C.
(Tab Editors Note: If you have trouble getting your fingers around F, you might want to try substituting with E. It's a little bit lower but a lot easier to play. If that's too much trouble you might try just strumming the guitar as a complete open chord (or "Gangajang" - that's a technical term for 'shit-house sound that non guitarists can't help but make any time they pick up a guitar') or you may want to get another guitarist in your band.)
It uses this chord a lot:
E|--3---
B|--3---
G|--0---
D|--0---
A|--2---
E|--3---
which is G. Here goes:
-----C--------F
red dyes, blue gays...
----C--------F
you look like hell to pay...
It's basically that, but then on the words which "stick out" you play G instead of F. Those words are "so well" and "a parel" and other ones maybe "cigar", just tap your foot until you've got it.
(Tab Editor's note: If anyone knows what a 'parel' is, then please email me here and tell me)
Guitar Solo: DA DA DAR DAAA (fourth "da" is the lowest) and the rest is just based around C pentatonic, and you bend the strings when appropriate. This solo is waaaay cool.
Unknown Title.
I saw this one live once, at Babble-On, pretty late.
The first bit is all screaming, but i think it's actually words he's screaming only i
don't know what they are and then Matt does a big slide on his guitar and the drums stops
because Glen's dropped one of his sticks. It was a pretty good song.
There are some other less ambitious Custard Tablature sites. Links to most, if not
all of them are provided at Moofed's Custard Tablature site. But if there's some tablature
that you want and it's not at this site, then why go to another site? Why not email me here and I can try to get it for you.
The Complete Custard Tablature Archive Project will be mirrored in other countries and on other continents as server space and download times become a problem when I have sorted out which possible mirror sites are suitable. This will also provide protection from any hardware failure/military strike but not from the Y2K bug which is set to strike everywhere at once, except some muslim countries who have a different calendar apparently.
