Duffy

This fine fellow will walk with us in spirit.
On 15 February 2002 Duffy went to the Rainbow Bridge.
He was my best friend and companion for fourteen years.
I shall be forever missing him; he was simply the best.
Rather than do a separate memorial page,
I decided to add some graphics made for him at the end of "his" page.
But PLEASE stop and read about Duffy before we continue ...

My family named me Sir McDuff of Woodlands, and I let them call me Duffy!

I adopted my family thirteen years ago. I gave them a crash course in speaking Sheltie and in wild and rough play! I showed them how to kill socks and stuffed toys! Tennis balls still fear me! I moved to a golf course a few years ago, and I have to guard my family from both killer squirrels and "golfs"! They keep me busy. Between providing most excellent companionship and guarding my family,
I don't have time to grow up!

We Shelties are not "minature collies!" My breed originated on the Shetland Isles, off the coast of Scotland. (I have wonderful stories about my ancestors!) The shepherds there needed someone to herd the lambs while the bigger sheepdogs (overgrown Shelties!) herded the adult sheep. ARF!

Here I am visiting with a neighbor through my fence:

Because we Shelties (Shetland Sheep Dogs) have such keen hearing, we make excellent assistance dogs for the hearing impaired. ARF!

I say ARF! only when necessary, and only I know when that is! How else can I ask for a dog biscuit cookie?

The windblown look drives the lassies wild!

They told me to smile for the camera! (the very idea...)

Today, 15 February 2002, Duffy went to sleep with the angels, who will take him
to the Rainbow Bridge when he wakes up away from his earthly pain.
Thank you, Mildred, for this beautiful memory:

and thank you, thank you, thank you, Adriennne, for this special memorial:

Before you go, leave a pawprint in my guestbook!
If you don't have a pawprint, a remark will do!
ARF!
Unconditional love lasts forever!

Thank you, Maica!

Pat me on the head & I will take you BACK
