Life as a Single Mom

I am the divorced mother of 3 children. My oldest, Christopher, is now 21. My middle child is Rebecca. She is 19 going on 30. And my youngest is Andrew who is 11. They are the best kids, but life can be trying at times. I graduated in 2000 with an Associates Degree in Specialized Business. I've found a great job, and am trying to make life work. I've been single for 7 years and it's been 4 years since I wrote the next paragraph. I've grown a lot since then.

It hasn't been easy trying to do all that has to be done on my own. No one really realizes the descrimination that goes on toward single working mothers out there. Especially if you are recently divorced with children and have nothing more than a high school diploma. I was unable to find any other work than in a convenience store which only pays minimum wage. When I decided to go back to school, I went for help to be able to afford the cost. Do you know how many people put me down for asking for help to go back to school? These people would rather see me work at a low paying job and receive assistance than to try and make a better wage and get off the welfare tolls. I find this unbelievable. That is just a part of some of the stuff we single women have to put up with. How about taking our cars to a garage to get repairs? It is a nightmare.

What do I like to do for fun?
Not that there is that much time for stuff like that but I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, and dancing.
I love the country and horses. My dreams are to own a victorian masion, and a Dodge Dakota Sport with a club cab, and it must be royal blue. (that is my favorite color in case you haven't guessed)
I don't like crowds or the city. I am very down to earth. A nice quiet week in the country with out any phones would be the perfect vacation for me.
Walking in the country along quiet dirt roads with wildflowers by the side of the road is perfection.
