I have got a room of my own. I sleep in this hand basin in the guest bathroom. With the door closed. Matte (my Human) doesn't like the idea of a 15 lb cat landing on her in the middle of the night. I don't mind. As long as she doesn't sleep too long.
My first Christmas present was a rubber chicken that sounds when I bite it. I still keep it, but it isnīt so funny now, when I am used to real living mice.
I love to look good. When Matte puts garlands around my neck I keep them on until they fall off by accident.
Each day my Matte takes me to my job in her car. I work as a Churchyard Cat where I was born and bred. In the evening I am picked up by Matte. -Matte, I want to go out NOW!
This is my church and churchyard. A cat can't be in a better place. I have lots of trees to climb, bushes to prowl among and there are lots of mice and voles and things. I love my job.
Climbing trees is great! Sometimes I play squirrel and jump between the highest branches, sometimes I play panther and look out for enimies.
And enimies do exist! Here comes "a snake in the paradise" who thinks he can share my meadows. 30 seconds later the fight is a fact. I win. It is after all MY place.
It is not so bad when Matte comes to fetch me home. She honks the car's horn three times and I come. If I have the time... and feel like it... But I know I will get cat food at home. |
