I AM A DESCENDANT OF VIKING CATS.
My foremothers were Viking cats 500 cat generations ago (We cats don't talk much about fathers). The Viking cats lived with their people, hunted mice, played with the children, were petted or kicked, got warm milk sometimes, slept where it was warm and nice. They were hardworking and very useful - really they lived very much the same life as we cats live now. That is, if we are lucky enough to live in the country and don't have to spend all life indoors.
In the summer of 1989, the same summer I was born, they did archeologic work here. They dug out bits of the old village, which was a big marketplace in Viking times, 1 000 years ago. It is on the Kävlinge river and it is still a village, though very small now.
In the winter the Vikings came home. They came sailing (or rather rowing) up this river from Öresund, some 20 kilometers away. This is Sweden now, but in the Viking time it was Denmark.
My hunting fields are on the north side of the river (right side on the picture), which is where the Vikings lived. Every day I hunt the same fields that my Viking ancestor cats did.
I share this place with storks and other birds, even eagles, and animals. I think I am a very lucky cat to have such a wonderful place to live.
