This Dutch hottie was born on May 3, 1980 in Breda (Noord-Brabant), Netherlands. He went to Stedelijk Gymnasium Breda for high school (if you're an American citizen and can point out exactly where that is on an unlabeled map (without looking it up) I'll give you a free a cappella CD), and is currently a second year graduate student at The University of Michigan studying Political Science. Roel is the current music director of The University of Michigan Dicks and Janes. He has contributed much to the group ever since he auditioned and joined in September 2001, including a great counter solo on "High Enough" on their first CD, "Show-N-Tell," and adding to the DJ library with his arrangement of K-otic's "I Really Don't Think So."

I will miss you so much after graduation. I am happy that we've been able
to find comfort in each other, and I hope that you know I will be there
(literally) next year when you need me (and sometimes when you don't). I
know you feel scared and unsure about being DJ 2002-2003's music director,
but I think you will make a fantastic music director. Not only are you
incredibly talented, but you also love Dicks and Janes, which is for me the
first priority of a good MD. Your presence and voice on exec next year will
contribute to a great balance of leadership, and the next year's group is
extremely fortunate to have you set a good example in such an
important "rebuilding" year. I love you.
