Erin and Mike graduated in Spring 2000 from The University of Michigan's School of Music with Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Musical Theatre Performance. They were married in Fall 2001 at United Methodist Church in Saline, Michigan. The wedding was beautiful (I'm going to copy the themes, okay, Erin? :) ), and the reception at Weber's was so much fun! | |
Erin is from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and was one of the original Dicks and Janes. I first saw Erin in September 1997 at a dance audition for a University of Michigan MUSKET production of "The Wiz," and I can remember my first feelings of being around her filled with awe, admiration, and some anxiety - we were coupled together to dance in the audition, and she kicked my ass! Erin is so awesome! Anyway, we were both cast, but I didn't get to know her further until the following Spring. My best friend, Heidi Powers, was directing a show that spring, titled "All in the Timing" for Rude Mechanicals, and Erin was in the cast. This is also how I met Marc Smollin. We all later auditioned for Amazin' Blue, and after callbacks proved unsuccessful, "Dicks and Janes"(or "Rollicking Crew") was conceived. Some of the awesome solos Erin did for Dicks and Janes include Into Your Life (duet with Craig McEldowney, originally by Nick Heyward) and Galileo (Indigo Girls). | Michael is from Adrian, Michigan, and he joined Dicks and Janes in Winter 1999. He received the Marc Robert Smollin Award of 1999-2000, and his arrangements for the group include Smooth (Winter 2001, originally by Santana) and Open Arms (Winter 2001, Journey). Mike is an awesome tenor soloist, and has been featured on DJ songs such as Walking in Memphis (Marc Cohn), Blood of Eden (Peter Gabriel), King of Pain (The Police), and Footloose (Kenny Loggins). In addition to his performances on Show N Tell, his talents have also recently been published on a Phoenix Productions CD for his role as Judas in their 2001 production of "Godspell." To Michael and Erin (Joey and "Airman") (April 2002)- You both have been such an inspiration to me. Not only have you taught me what true modesty is when it comes to awesome talent, but you have given me so much trust in my potential. Michael, I will always remember our 4am talks about Brad Whitfield, Friends, and beefsteak. Erin, you are one of the most beautiful hearts I have ever known, and like my mom says, you are a beautiful angel. You taught me how important it is laugh at myself and to put everything in erspective. Congratulations on a wonderful wedding! And, I know you two like the name "Shirley Jane," but, you know Aimee is a nice name too....or maybe Catherine? how about Austria? (hee hee hee) |
