THE DRURY FAMILY TREE

George Drury (42) and Elizabeth Lyons (38) arrived in Sydney from Ballyjamesduff,  County Cavan, Ireland on
9 February 1845 aboard  the ship "Herald".  Accompanying them were their seven children;  Jane, Ann, Margaret, George, Arthur, Susan, and John ( who was born on the voyage). The ships log states that George was a farm labourer and Elizabeth a dairy maid. 

After settling in Parramatta, NSW, they had three more children, Sarah, Samuel and Robert. George went on to become a police constable.

Samuel Jame
s Drury was born about 1852  in Parramatta, NSW.  He married Mary Jane Willis in Grafton, NSW in 1870. His death certificate says his occupation was a "carter", and he worked for Moxham's Orchards in Parramatta.. Samuel died in 1896,  aged 44, leaving his wife with seven children.  They were::

Frederick Arthur, my great grandfather (1892-1976) married  Letitia Lily Ford  in 1913
