    Pinhoti is a Creek Indian word meaning turkey home . The Creek Indians made this their home for centuries before the first white settlers. You'll  discover  a very  varied  terrain  from gentle lowland to the rocky outcrop of Cheaha Mountain, the highest peak in Alabama and the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.  History abounds along the trail that spans from east of Talladega to the Georgia line and beyond.
     Numerous                  intersect the Pinhoti making it posible to hike any number of loop trails. There are also                 where hikers can leave vehicles for traverse hikes.
