iRise opened its doors as a Java consulting firm and soon saw a need for an enterprise level software product that would streamline the development process for developers, marketing and management. As a result they formed a new division in October 2000 to address this need and develop a product known as iRise Online and iRise Studio.

  • Founded the quality assurance department for the iRise Online and Studio projects.
  • Responsible for all aspects of defining, documenting and testing code developed for a cutting-edge enterprise level client/server software application developed in Java and J2EE.
  • Assisted in implementing a configuration management system in Microsoft VSS to move QA-approved software into development. Handled the operations and software updates on the QA, Demo and Productions machines.
  • Worked with developers and business analysts to help define the product architecture and resolve issues in the user interface, allowing the product to be more intuitive and user-friendly.

Brought in to set up and evolve the Quality Assurance department for a business to business, gem trading, Internet startup that launched in June 2000.

  • Worked on location with the software subcontractor Xpedior to develop and test Phase I and Phase II of the auction software to be utilized by GC Ventures.
  • Hired, trained and supervised the quality assurance team for the company. Delegated work as appropriate to skill sets.
  • Developed complete test plans, test cases, scripts and end-to-end testing for all phases of development allowing full regression testing as the product evolved.

Responsible for the creation and supervision of a quality assurance department, as well as the integration of the quality assurance process into the software development cycle.

  • Implemented the Test Track defect tracking software, which allowed expedition of the process for reporting and resolving bugs found both in developing software and existing code.
  • Hired and headed a team of six to eight testers including interns, testing engineers and testing leads.
  • Worked with the Accipiter ad serving software to deliver multi-media ads ranging from simple static GIFs to full UniCast media.
