Ritual for the Great Mother 01/03
Cleanse me purest moonlight
Take my sorrowful soul away
I ask you either take my life
Or give one, anew, today
Lying naked, cut and bruised
My life pouring upon the sand
The mother's tears wash over me
The stone of power in my hand
Release me from this suffered heart
Purge my body of the pain
Take this lifeless, loveless husk
Which has none left to lose or gain
Pebbles catching in my hair
Kelp tangled in my toes
Ocean dress me to be your child
A woman who no one knows
Wash the stains away
Cool my tear streaked face
Remove the weight upon my chest
I seek rebirth and grace
By blood and tears, by light and dark,
By earth and water and fire
I will it be over or my spirit reborn
For of this existence I tire.
