Fred's Miracle survival and other fascinating Sea Monkey adventures

Early this December, my main squeeze and I became the proud parents of hundreds of tiny Sea Monkeys. They were beautiful and bountiful! But then, tragedy number one struck. Mr. Main Squeeze knocked over their plastic world. The population was suddenly halved, but that was all right. We would continue to care for the ones we had, while remembering the good times the others had brought.....babies gone at such an early stage. The plastic tank sustained a small crack near the lid....But it still was good enough to hold sufficient water.
Later, tragedy two. I had assigned Main Squeeze to give the Sea Monkeys feeding number two. He accidentally used the ADULT sized scoop! By the following morn, it seemed in the midst of all that cloudy water, that all life had been lost. I rushed the tank from his place to mine, carefully pouring out 50% of the tanks water, and quickly replacing it with all that I had on hand: plain distilled water.
I was pleasantly surprised to find 2 live Sea Monkeys. But only 1 sea monkey made it through that night. I named him Fred. Fred was not lonely for long. Some new hatchlings arrived less than 30 hours later. Fred is in good company, but now after almost a month, he is 1/2 inch long, certainly the largest of his family and friends. Hats off to Fred!! Darwin Fitness and Survival Award Recipient 1999.  He is going to be all right!
