In the early days of the Virginia Colony Robert Huberd arrived in Virginia. His family accompanied him and their children were near adulthood. They arrived sometime in the 1640's and not later than 1648. He was a man who was well enough educated and responsible enough, also appreciated sufficiently to be secured as Clerk of the Virginia Council. He was a man of sufficient wealth to pay the transportation of at least 72 persons who came to Virginia Colony. He acquired over 6400 acres of land and he assigned land to others. If he had a will it was lost. He had three sons, Mathew, John, and Robert. Robert died sometime between July 20, 1662 and February 9, 1663. He "copied the records of the Virginia Council for Lieutenant Colonel Walker" and another duty was to have "the commissioners of the militia in every county provide 4 barrels of powder with shot sufficient for each regiment." He lived in several different places but mainly in Westmoreland County Virginia. He was born in England around 1600, was educated, then married in England about 1625. The name of his wife is unknown.
