Under duress, I agreed to the terms of the new and completely unacceptable GeoYahoo! rules regarding content so that I could gain access to my site which has existed since 1995 in order to dismantle it.
Under no circumstances do I nor will I ever (to quote from the Terms of Service Agreement on June 29, 1999)
automatically grant, or warrant that the owner of such Content has expressly granted, Yahoo the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sublicensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such Content (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed.

I had already consented for you and me to be burdened by their advertising, watermarking, and popping-up new and highly annoying browser windows. However, I did not give Geocities permission to give away my thoughts or my words, much less my friend's unique graphics, when they were purchased by Yahoo! Given the wording they chose to use, this appears to be nothing less than an underhanded, carefully-crafted attempt to misappropriate everything from Geocities' homesteaders.
My greatest consolation is that I had NOT yet posted any excerpts from my graduate research projects, papers, and articles in Theoretical Linguistics.
