I am a lesbian, and a member of what is usually considered to be the most popular sorority on campus. Because of this, I have come out to only a handful of people, only one of whi h is in my house. I know, I know- I am such a wimp... I do know that I would have to deactivate from my sorority if they ever found out. They wouldn't force me to ever, but they would feel too uncomfortable, and I would too... and I really love living in my house, love my sisters- I'm not willing to risk it all, being a second semester senior. Anyway, hopefully with your work and the work of United DePauw, soon women won't have to be scared that their sorority "sisters" will disown them, or scared that members of SAE will beat and gang rape them, and maybe the university will finally take the notice necessary for the well-being of the GLBT community. |
