Mendocino

I your post asking for info on places to rent in Mendocino. I don't know if you are interested in a house, but my girlfriend and I rented through this agency a great house on the sea...hot tub, woodstove etc...we stayed at Puffin's Perch, though they have lots of others that look nice too.

My favorite is the Albion River Inn. If price isn't an issue, you can rent an individual cabin with a king size bed, jacuzzi tub, fireplace, deck & fantastic view of the ocean. It's heaven on earth. They also offer less expensive accommodations. Another excellent place is the Little River Inn. Nice rooms, fireplaces, less expensive. Great energy!! Good luck.

Orr Hotsprings is beautiful, it's in Ukiah. That's about 2 hours north on HW 101, in Mendocino County. It's in the wine country, inland, as opposed to the town of Mendocino on the coast. It's a wonderful get-away, and a good many SF lesbians spend their weekends there. The phone number is 707-462-6266.

The Agate Cove Inn is very wonderful. It's a bit outside of town, but very quiet and romantic. Enjoy:)!

Sally and Eileen's place. they have a cabin with a loft, fireplace, small deck, fully furnished kitchen, etc. and an a frame [one room] with a wood burning stove. the cabin is self contained [the bathtub looks out into the woods...tres romantic!] but the a-frame is not so you have to use the VERY upscale bathroom attached to their house [sunken tub, great view, etc. they even provide you with robes.] the a-frame does have a kitchen, though, with a convection oven. prices were reasonable [for the area...cabin $80, a-frame $65] and the hospitality was wonderful...it's private, charming, romantic. i had a wonderfully romantic time each time i went...and i did stay in both cabins.

I highly recommend Griffin House Inn in Elk - on the coast, just south of Mendocino. My gf and I recently stayed there and were very impressed. Breakfast delievered to your room, steaming hot! Bar/restaurant up front. Nice gardens and shops close by. Pride flag flying right outside our front door! Wood burning stove. We rode our motorcycles and found many wonderful roads! If you enjoy that, I recommend Mtn. View Road and Hwy 28 (?). Both were wonderful.

If you go down to Palm Springs I definately would stay in the awesome DYKE MOTEL "The Bee Charmer." I go there every summer now. You won't regret it. Here's the link: Bee Charmer Inn:
