Decorations and Wedding Book
This is what our guests saw when they first walked into our apartment. On the wall you can see a lace heart with the words "Wedding Book" and two pink balloons on it. Below that you can see a table which we made out of boxes covered in white tissue paper. We twisted pink and teal streamers and put them at both the top and the bottom of the boxes. It really did turn out very nice looking.
Sitting on top of the boxes was the wedding book, which Beverly made since we couldn't find one that was suitable for same sex couples. There was also 6 dried pink roses with baby's breath, a floating candle holder with a white candle in it, and a teal feathered pen in a gold colored holder. We also provided a pen decorated with pink and red roses since the feathered pen was only for decoration.
The wedding book included all the normal stuff that wedding books normally contain and some other stuff that Beverly thought would add to the memories it contains. There is information about both Beverly and Jamie as individuals, a short list of important dates in our relationship, our favorite memories of times we have spent together, as well as a special message to each other. Also included are one of our invitations and RSVP cards, both of which we also made and printed on a color printer on very nice paper.
The wedding book also includes a card given to us at our engagment party which was oddly enough held just days before our wedding in the apartment of one of Jamie's friends. There is also a page where our engagement party guests signed their name and address. Next in the book is a picture of the wedding ceremony and just above that is a package of the multicolored, heart shaped graffetti that our guests threw at us during our kiss at the end of the ceremony. (We spent DAYS picking these hearts up from the carpet in our home and collecting them as a keep sake of our wedding in their original bag!)
The next page of the wedding book has a copy of the program from our ceremony followed by a couple our our vows, which we wrote ourselves. The guests at the wedding again signed their name and address so we would know where to send our thank you cards. In order to help us to remember who gave us what, we also made a list of the cards and gifts that we received and who they were from. We also got a few letters of support and well wishes which we included in our wedding book. And we ended our book with brocures and the receipt from The Wild Irish Inn where we spent one night for our honeymoon and a postcard which shows the small town of La Conner, Washington where the Inn is located.
