Editor's Corner by Rich
Well I had a bit of a glitch with my computers. I have had 3 computers in the last 5 weeks. I hope I will be able to restore all files. What a mess!! First getting back on the internet, then the e-mail, incoming and outgoing. Then the printer; then upgrading from Microsoft works to Microsoft office and finally
adding a floppy drive to the new set up. I had to do this each time I hooked up a new computer; 3 times in all.
Rehoboth was great!!! The club will definitely have this outing again. We
had the whole building to ourselves; up late and even in the hot tub till way after midnight. It was a lot of fun and a very relaxing weekend.
I can’t say the same for Convergence. Not because it was bad, it wasn’t. It was great. But yours truly was elected ABC treasurer and that’s where the nightmare began. I was responsible for the ABC 50/50 raffle and spent most of the weekend tearing tickets and counting money.
New Orleans was approved for Convergence 2005. I can’t believe that the Atlanta club was able to get the classiest hotel in the French Quarter, the Monteleone, for $99.00 a night during these dates (during Southern Decadence, gay Mardi Gras). We can even have these rates from 3 days before to 3 days after.
East Coast Conference will be in Fort Lauderdale. Both events are very reasonably priced. Sign up now and they will be well under $200.00.
West Coast Conference will once again be in Long Beach. If you did not go this year, go in 2005. It was well worth the trip.
Houston has made a presentation for Convergence 2006. I loved Houston when I went to ECC this year. I will have some registration forms for all events at the club parties until the events occur. Till next month, hugs R.
I know, I know. We have not been very good with getting newsletters out recently. There is no excuse as to why so accept my apologies and know that we will work to improve the situation immediately.
That being said, a lot has happened since the last newsletter. In August several members went to Rehoboth Beach, DE and had a wonderful time at a bed and breakfast. It was such a success that we plan on doing something similar again.
Then over Labor Day weekend several of us, including yours truly, went to Convergence in White Plains, NY. If you have never been to a Convergence you should make plans to attend Convergence 2005 in New Orleans. For more information go to www.convergence2005.com.
Last months social was a pizza party at my clubhouse. I had a nasty cold so I was not in attendance but word has it that we had a great time. Thanks Rich, Frank, John and Joe for running the social!
