Information on the situation for homosexuals in the British Virgin Islands: Illegal The British Virgin Islands is a British dependency in the Caribbean consisting of 36 islands. A recent turn down of a gay cruise in another British dependency, the Cayman Islands, stirred up some emotions both among pro-gays and our opponents. The media focus on this case has made the government of British prime minister, Tony Blair, to demand that its Carribean colonies legalize gay sex. Otherwise, they might place the United Kingdom at risk of being found in violation of its international human-rights agreements.

Hopefully we'll se basic human rights granted in all of Great Britain and its territories very soon. The often christian-led anti-gay movements are very powerful, though.
