Sex between men is illegal in
Georgia, but sex between women is not mentioned in the law. At least this
is what most Internet sites discussing the issue say. I have received reports
saying that being gay in Georgia may very well be accepted. Several gay
men are open about their sexuality without any harassment from the police.
Even heterosexual men show their affection for eachother quite openly.
Friendship is highly valued. Still, Georgia is a very traditional society,
so the opennes may not extend much outside Tbilisi.
