Legal Homosexuality was legalized on January 1, 1998, repealing the old Soviet article 121,1 which made homosexuality illegal. Article 130 of the new Criminal Code OKs homosexual acts unless they involve "force" or "the threat of force" or "take advantage of the weakness of the victim." Kyrgyzstan declared its independence from the Soviet Union in September 1991. It has the reputation of being the most democratic country in Central Asia! Russians are the largest minority constituting 22 per cent of the population. Kyrgyzstan is very mountainous, with over half its territory above 2500 m (8200 ft). If you have any further information
