Though homosexuality is illegal, it is often more tolerated than in other Middle East countries. After all, this used to be the hot spot of the Mediterranean once upon a time!
Lebanon is a war-torn country; a place where different cultures and religions meet. It is home to thousands of Palestinian refugees with no legal rights in Lebanon, as an example. It is impossible to say that homosexuality is viewed in this or that way by all people in Lebanon. But formally, it IS illegal.
