Legal Homosexuality was legalized in Liechtenstein as late as in 1989. There are still discriminating age of consent laws, setting the age limit four years higher for sex between males. Liechtenstein bans all positive representations of homosexuality. "Promoting" or "encouraging" homosexuality is forbidden, thus also banning gay organizations. There is, however, one fairly new gay organization, FLay. See link below. Proposals of amendments to the discriminatory laws are to be presented to the Landtag (parliament) during the spring of 1999. Women were first given the right to vote in 1984. Foreign workers make up one third of the population. Liechtenstein joined the UN in 1990, and EFTA in 1991. If you have any further information
